The Pulitzer Fountain, topped with a figure of Pomona, the Roman goddess of abundance, was erected on the Grand Army Plaza, at 59th and Fifth Avenue, New York, with $50,000 bequethed by newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer on his death in 1911.
