Elvis's sixth film, Flaming Star was originally intended to star Marlon Brando. The Western, about a bi-racial family and tensions between Indians and whites on the Texas frontier, underwent several title changes during production. Elvis recorded several songs for the film but only two songs made the final cut, the title track and A Cane and A High Starched Collar. The film premiered December 22, 1960 to positive reviews.
