Little biographical information is available about Huber, who was a painter and graphic designer. He was certainly one of the "many young Swiss-German artists [who] went to Germany, attracted by its intense [poster] activity and geographical proximity. Among them were those who were to breathe new life into the Swiss-German poster. Like their Swiss-French counterparts in Paris a few years earlier, they could not fail to be affected by the vitality of the poster art being created in Munich" (Swiss Art Nouveau p. 90). Throughout Huber's career he designed many posters in many different artistic styles; his work in the years prior to the First World War clearly reflect Hohlwein's influence, both in style, pattern and even layout, as can be seen here in a poster which closely resembles several posters Hohlwein designed in 1912, such as one for the clothier Isidor Bach and another for Audi. From the Hans Sachs Collection. Miroir 9, Swiss Art Nouveau p. 91, Hotelplakate 32.
