For the production of L'Inhumanie, one of France's most famous Avant-garde films, Marcel L'Herbier assembled an extraordinary group of designers and artists. Amongst them were Fernand Léger, Robert Mallet-Stevens, René Lalique, Alberto Cavalcanti, Paul Poiret, Pierre Chareau and others. Choreography was by Jean Börlin and the music was composed Darius Milhaud. Aaes was an Avant-garde Danish designer who was in Paris in the 1920s working with Cavalcanti.
