Klein (1900-1957) was born in Vienna and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Wien. She became a proponent of Viennese Kinectism, which fused various tenets of French Cubism, Italian Futurism and Russian Constructivism. She exhibited in Europe in the 1920s and in 1929 emigrated to the U.S. where she became an art instructor in New York and continued her artistic career.
