Pencil on cream wove paper, circa 1932. 536x354 mm; 211/8x131/8 inches. Ex-collection Washington Irving Gallery, New York, with the gallery label attached to the frame back.

According to the gallery label, "study for the mural Needles Trade School High School, New York City, c. 1932." Now named the High School of Fashion Industries, the vocational school taught the "needle" trades of shoemakers, furriers, men's and ladies' garment workers and millners. The mural was painted during 1938-39 in the school auditiorium. The school is located at 225 West 24th Street in Manhattan.
