281/2x40 inches.
Condition A-: repaired tear in bottom right corner; pinholes in corners.
Keller was one of the fathers of the international typographic style. He taught design and typography at Zurich's Decorative Arts School from 1918 until his retirement in 1956, influencing generations of students. More than just a teacher, he also designed a number of posters for the Zurich Decorative Arts Museum. All of his posters adhered to his two graphic principles of simplicity and legibility. His style evolved over the years from a strict approach in the 1920s to more relaxed and imaginative typography after the war, which ran contrary to the prevailing, rigid international style. This poster is a good example of his playful approach towards the inventive use of typography.
