Etching and aquatint on heavy, cream wove paper, circa 1908. 80x70 mm; 3 1/8x2 3/4 inches, wide (full ?) margins. Signed and inscribed "Eigendruck" in pencil, lower margin. A superb impression of this extremely scarce etching.
Kirchner used the same technique combining bold, evenly-bitten etching and tonal patches of aquatint in his Sitzendes Badendes Mädchen am Strand, etching and aquatint, 1908, Dube 38. Though recorded by Schiefler, this entry is not listed by Dube. Nevertheless, Dube comments that the etching is "Bei Schieflerbeschreiben, uns jedoch unbekantt gebliesen." Schiefler 7.
