50x371/2inches. J. Liefeerant, Vienna.
Condition B+: creases and repaired tears along vertical and horizontal folds.
A German war loan poster using a classical image of a knight defending a woman and child from the spears of unseen attackers, in black, yellow, green and gray against a red background; lettering in gray against a black border. "This chivalric image suggests that the war is being fought for the protection of women and children. The influence of the Vienna Secession can be seen in the mosaic-like chips of color decorating the knight's belt and shield and the woman's wrap." (Paret p. 73). Paret 100.
