GLN-2153; Hoffmann III, 97; this edition not in Schreiber. from the library of the physician and historian achilles pirmin gasser (1505-77), with his ownership inscriptions dated Augsburg 1561 on the titles, extensive marginalia, monogram on the last page of the second part, and transcription of the Greek text and a Latin translation of the poem on health attributed to Ariphron of Sicyon on the rear endleaves. The donor V. F. noted in Gasser's ownership inscriptions is conceivably his friend and fellow bibliophile Ulrich Fugger (1526-84), patron of Henri Estienne and the only Protestant convert in the Fugger banking dynasty of Augsburg.
