The first work published here is a second edition of Einstein's 1904 doctoral thesis. The second is a first edition of one of his principal works on Brownian molecular theory. In addition, on pages 487-553 is published the first scientific paper to cite Einstein's dissertation, Kaufmann's "Ueber die Konstitution des Elektrons."
