Condition B: losses in central images; crease, abrasions and staining in margins and image; darkened overall. Framed.
A rare early American lithograph for a small railway running between San Francisco and Sonoma. The Korbel brothers, of wine and champagne fame, were major entrepreneurs in the 19th century. They began as cigar box makers and became timber magnates. When the market for their lumber cooled down, they converted much of their land to vineyards in the early 1880s. This poster was printed by them, shows their saw mill and one of the company's picnic grounds within the forest.
