Rare plan of the ports of Saint Lucia, representing one of the first major battles to occur in the West Indies during the American Revolution. The English secured the port from the French and held it throughout the war. This copy removed from a composite atlas and appears in Nebenzahl's variant state, with a contemporary account of the battle in the form of "Extracts from General Grant's Letter to Lord George Germain, dated Mourne Fortune, Ste. Lucie, Dec 31st, 1778" below the map. Nebenzahl 150.
