Initialed lower right, cropped along left side affecting number stamp and penciled title (indecipherable) * "Children hate the sight of pie." 170x250 mm; 6 5/8x9 7/8 inches. Unsigned. Two illustrations for vignettes in the poem "Topsy Turvy Town" published within a story by Sydney Reid, "Josey and the Chipmunk," St. Nicholas Magazine, March 1900, page 434.

with--an unpublished illustration for the same story titled "`Are you laughing at me, sir?' asked the toad fish ferociously." 187x305 mm; 7 3/8x12 inches. Initialed right margin; captioned in pencil, lower margin. Ink and pencil indications ("The Angry Toadfish"; "St N[icholas] not used" on verso); and some soiling in margins, scattered soiling and pinholes in margins. The Century Co. published the book Josey and the Chipmunk later in 1900 for Sydney Reid.
