This 1931 tournament took place in the Obergösgen district of the Baroque canton of Solothurn, Switzerland. The athlete here may be participating in the sport of Steinstossen (the Swiss variant of "stone put"). In 1860, Steinstossen was introduced as a track-and-field discipline in Germany, though the stone was replaced by a 15 kg (33 lb) block of iron.
