Additional Details

"Alone in the Caribbean" is a classic in boating history and tells the story of Frederick A. Fenger and his 800 mile cruise through the Caribbean aboard his canoe, "Yakaboo," which was 17 feet long and weighed 147 pounds. The canoe had no rudder and was steered entirely by trimming the sheets and shifting the centreboard forward and aft, as necessary.

Assorted documents from Fenger's trip can be found at the Mystic Seaport Museum.
