FERDINAND LOUIS GOTTLOB (1873-1935) 2E EXPOSITION DES PEINTRES LITHOGRAPHES. 1898.
46 1/2x29 1/2 inches, 118x75 cm. Lemercier, Paris.
Condition B+: repaired tears at edges, some affecting image; creases, abrasions and restoration in margins and image; light staining in image. Framed.
Gottlob was both a painter and illustrator, common for many young artists of the period, as for a while, the distinction between the fine arts and applied arts virtually disappeared. The blurring of this distinction led to exhibitions like Les Peintres Lithographes, for which Gottlob (who was not a prolific poster artist) designed their second exhibition poster. DFP-II 392, Maitres 219, Wine Spectator 108, Gold 183.
