Ceramic, circa 1955. 270x100x10 mm; 10 3/4x3 3/4x 1/2 inches. Manufactured by Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company, New York.

In early 1955 Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company, in collaboration with Corning Glass Works, commissioned a dozen artists to create desgins for doorknobs and drawer pulls. The current lot was most likely a prototype for a full, unrealized edition of 85.
