RARE POCKET ISSUE FINLEY, ANTHONY. A New American Atlas. Scarce pocket-issue, with 15 hand-colored maps on 14 mapsheets. 12mo, publisher's wallet-style roan, a trifle worn and stained, lacking the flap; maps generally quite bright and clean, with a few short separations at folds and some minor browning; with index and population tables as pastedowns. Philadelphia, [1826]

Additional Details

The maps are printed on thinner paper than was used in the folio edition of the atlas. This was done so that the maps could be more easily folded to fit into the pocket-style format. The maps are dated 1824-26 and are by J. H. Young.
