Additional Details

first edition, first printing of fitzgerald's masterpiece. Only a handful of copies in the rare, famous dust jacket designed by Francis Cugat have ever appeared on the market. Like this copy, most jackets are the second state indicated by the lower case "j" in Gatsby's name in line 14 of the rear panel corrected by hand with a rubber stamp capital "J" applied over it. In this copy, the capital J is curiously mis-stamped next to the lower case j and so close to the preceding word that it appears "thisJjay Gatsby." Worthy of restoration, and a solid copy of a title which, in a fine jacket, commands upwards of $100,000. Bruccoli AII.Ia; Connolly 48.
