Sauze, an important perfume manufacturer in Paris before the War, was clearly so delighted with Metlicovitz's work, that they commissioned other posters from him. This one, like Fleurs de Meuse<>, was also for the French market. As in the previous image he depicts a diaphonously dressed woman, sensuously inhaling perfume. She is softly drawn in pastel tones, with the landscape behind her barely delineated. It is an exquisite, gently erotic image reminiscent of a delicate waft of perfume emerging from a stoppered bottle. Menegazzi p. 47.
