Color and image excellent. Sauze, an important perfume manufacturer in Paris before the War, was clearly so delighted with Metlicovitz's work, that they commissioned other posters from him. This one, like Fleurs de Meuse<>, was also for the French market. As in the previous image he depicts a diaphonously dressed woman, sensuously inhaling perfume. She is softly drawn in pastel tones, with the landscape behind her barely delineated. It is an exquisite, gently erotic image reminiscent of a delicate waft of perfume emerging from a stoppered bottle. Menegazzi p. 47.
