USED FOR CELESTIAL NAVIGATIONFLOWN ASTP Star Chart. A multi-colored chart with the exact celestial positions of key stars for the Command Service Module (CSM) navigational equipment realignment prior to deorbit. The orbital path of the CSM relative to background stars is plotted in yellow with sun-rise and sun-set indicated with perpendicular marks. The ecliptic plane is denoted by a dashed line with the positions of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn marked in blue. The Sun is marked in red. The brightest stars have their names labeled and prominent constellations are outlined. Right Ascension and Declination are marked in degrees along the edges of the chart. The chart is labeled: "RT Data, CSM Deorbit, Star Chart, July 15, 1975 Launch." The reverse has North and South Polar star positions. Approximately 15x8 inches mounted in a 19x11 inch black frame. With a Typed Letter Signed by Tom Stafford certifying that the chart was carried on the mission. NASA/JSC, 1974/75
