FLOWN Apollo 15 Emblem Carried to the Lunar Surface. A 4-inch diameter cloth crew emblem mounted onto a Typed Letter Signed by Mrs. James Irwin. The emblem was carried inside Lunar Module "Falcon" and logged over 66 hours on the lunar surface. It has the designer's initials and a bit of special silver mylar thread woven into the emblem. Additional Details

The letter reads in part: "The emblem was designed by Emilio Pucci of Italy. His initials are woven into the lunar surface area just above the "W" in Worden. There is also hint of mylar thread outlining the somewhat hidden "XV" just to the right center of the three chevrons designed by Emilio." With a copy of the manuscript note written by Commander Dave Scott to Jim Irwin which reads in part: "8 Flags + 2 patches - 1/3 of those that reached Hadley (Delta symbol). . . Dave."
