Mounted in an approximately 17x11 inch color matting containing an 8x10 color photograph of the Apollo IX Saturn V launch. Both letter and photo are removable from matting. NASA, 1969

The Cooper letter reads in part: "This patch was carried on Apollo IX, the first manned flight of the Lunar Module. I was training as back-up commander for Apollo X at the time. Apollo IX is often overlooked, but it was a very important mission testing the lunar and command modules, especially related to their rendezvous capabilities."
