Flown Gemini crew patches are extremely rare. Cooper's letter reads in part: "The crew patch enclosed with this letter was carried into space on the Gemini XII mission during November 11 to 15, 1966. It was presented to me by the flight crew of James Lovell and Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin as a thank-you for my role as back-up commander for this flight."
