FLOWN Skylab I Beta Emblem, approximately four inches square, with original stitching and Durette jacket material from which it was cut. NASA/MSC, 1973

Additional Details

This emblem was originally on one of Paul Weitz's tan inflight jackets that he wore on the first manned Skylab mission. Crew clothing was routinely disposed of after several days' use. Prior to disposal into the large aft waste tank, Weitz cut this emblem from his jacket. On the reverse side over the tan Durette material, Weitz has inscribed and signed: "Taken from my inflight jacket worn on Skylab I (SL-2), Paul Weitz, PLT." With a Typed Letter Signed which provides enough space to allow this emblem to be displayed with the letter.
