FLOWN U.S. Flag. An approximately 4x6 inch U.S. flag displayed on a 11x14 inch color print featuring four scenes of the STS-6 mission. The print reads: "This flag was flown aboard the first flight of the Space Shuttle "Challenger," (STS-6) April 4-9, 1983." The print is mounted to a 16x20 inch white mat board. NASA/JSC, 1983

The flag is inscribed and signed along the lowest white bar "Flown on STS-6, Paul Weitz, CDR." Inscribed and signed on the reverse side "From my personal collection, Paul Weitz." STS 6 was the maiden voyage of "Challenger." The vehicle was later lost during launch of the STS 51L mission in 1986.
