first edition of this exquisite suite of designs by the French decorative artist and sculptor, Follot. The chief designer for the Parisian gallery La Maison Moderne established in 1898 by Julius Meier-Graefe, the leading art critic who founded the Munich decorative arts journal, Pan. The gallery closed in 1904 but Follot continued to design jewelry until 1914--Becker, Art Nouveau Jewelry, pages 46-47.
