FORSTER, E.M. Autograph Letter Signed. 8vo, sheet, recto only, printed stationery, folded twice with some soiling along one edge. The letter reads in full: "Dear Mr. Hyde, I had a preliminary talk with Mr. Harrison yesterday. While experiencing interest in the scheme, he doesn't think that anything of the nature of an entertainment could be ready before March or April. I am going to London tomorrow and shall collect some material for him about the Enclosure Acts, etc. Possibly I may be ringing you up, and, after things have progressed a little more, perhaps you and Mr. Harrison and myself might have a meeting in town. Meanwhile, I wonder whether you would communicate with S.P.R.E. and with the National Trust, and find out from their respective headquarters whether they have any information about 'shows' which have been performed in aid of the countryside: they may give some hints which would be useful to us. Yours sincerely, E.M. Forster." West Hackhurst, Abinger Hammer, Dorking; November 21, 1937
