The certificate, acknowledging Memphis, El Paso and Pacific Railroad Company's debt of $1,000 to Frémont to be repaid by transfer to him of 50 acres of land in Texas after completion of the railroad from Jefferson to El Paso, signed at lower right by two STCR executive committee members William Schmoele and Worthington G. Snethen as well as the assistant secretary William Snethen. 5x7 3/4 inches; tiny hole at fold intersection, faint scattered soiling, tiny hole with minor loss to embossed "Memphis, El Paso, and Pacific Rail R.
