This poster advertises a store on the elegant Avenue de l'Opéra that catered to the needs of aristocrats who attended the bals masqués and fêtes that were such a prominent part of aristocratic French life at the fin-de-siècle. Here, in the comfort of their own luxurious home, two women are trying on various costumes that have been delivered to them from the store. They are already enjoying themselves as they prepare for the amusing evening in store, surrounded by their purchases of jewelry, lace, masks, ostrich feathers and fans.
