FRANCISQUE POULBOT (1879-1946) BI-BORAX ORIENTAL. 341/4x26 inches. Condition B+: minor losses in margins and image; tears in margins; creases in margins and image; vertical and horizontal folds. Poulbot was less than 20 years old when his work was selected for this competition. His tender image of a young girl cleaning her doll clearly reflects the influence of Theofile-Alexandre Steinlen. Later on in his career, Poulbot became famous for his depiction of street children in Montmartre.
