Inscribed "a light, but good, print" by Bolton Brown (?) in pencil, lower left. A superb impression of this extremely scarce print.
After 15 very productive years as a printmaker of etchings and drypoints, Benson turned to lithography and sought the aid of Bolton Brown, among the foremost lithograph printers of the day. This is his first of seven different lithographs, the other six subjects represent birds, and this is the only still life print within his oeuvre. Ordeman Litho #1.
