Von Stück's head of the Greek Goddess Athena became the emblem of the Munich Secession in 1893, when he officially co-founded the movement and used it on a poster advertising the group's first international exhibition. Von Stück reused the goddess's head, framed in an octagon, for many posters advertising Secession exhibitions. Kunst 472 (var).
