The official poster of the 1936 Olympic Games, Würbel's poster "was designed to dominate and impress . . . [and] met the threefold objective of indicating the importance of the Olympiad, proclaiming Berlin as the host city and publicizing the Games in an effective and internationally understandable manner" (Olympic Posters p. 45).
