Conway was a painter, educator and lecturer, who worked on the staff of Washington University Art School for over 40 years. Some of his most significant artworks are murals on display in several states, including some commissioned for the WPA. Later on in his life, Conway focused on his passion for playing golf and creating paintings and sculptures relating to the sport. In addition to this American Airlines image, he also painted poster designs for Detroit and St. Louis. Hello Dolly premiered on Broadway in 1964.
