Frederick Yohn was an illustrator best known for his historical and military-themed artwork. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Yohn studied at the Art Students League in New York and quickly gained recognition for his detailed, dramatic scenes that brought American history to life. His work appeared in popular magazines such as Harper's, Scribner's, and The Saturday Evening Post, and he also illustrated classic novels, including James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans. Yohn's ability to depict action and historical accuracy made him a favorite for patriotic and adventure subjects, especially scenes from the American Revolution and World War I.
