American neurologist Roy R. Grinker, Sr. (1900-1993), arranged to be psychoanalyzed by Freud in Vienna over the course of a year beginning in September of 1933. After returning to the U.S., he founded the Institute for Psychosomatic and Psychiatric Research and Training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.
