Fritz Blumenthal was known for his paintings and monoprints. His monoprints are discussed in the 1974 publication, "The art of monoprint: History and modern techniques," by Norman Laliberte.

After his studies at University Wuerzburg, Frankfurt, Blumenthal immigrated to the United States and became a citizen. His art is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and many more. He had numerous exhibitions in Germany and the United States, including the Herbert E. Feist Gallery in New York, and his works were included in the 1964 World's Fair, NY.
