London: Printed [by Jane Bell] for F. K[irkman] and are to be sold by Robert Pollard, at the sign of Ben. Johnsons head, on the back-side of the Old-Exchange, 1657.

First edition, one of two issues printed in 1657 with varying imprints, 12mo, all crediting Christopher Marlowe on the title, an attribution now discredited by scholarship, A2, B1-4, B9-12, C-F12, G11 (lacking text leaves B5-B8 & final blank G12); with the following pencil inscription on front flyleaves: "Ex Libro Nicholas Pultenham / Emi ex Muliero in agris, April 1691 / Non se legendo sed faciendo peccatum venit"; "From the library of Nicholas Pultenham, I bought it from a woman in the country, April 1691. Sin comes not by reading but by doing"; bound in full contemporary sheepskin, neatly rebacked, housed in a custom folding box the size of a quarto book, 5 1/2 x 3 in.
