Small quarto, bound in full contemporary red morocco over beveled wooden boards, spine and boards decorated in gilt; enamel portrait of Christ inset into front board with inscription (owner's name?) on enameled panel inside the front board; with original knobbed brass edge pieces incorporating neatly enameled clasps with the IHS epigram; all edges gilt and gauffered, back board with initials surmounted with a crown tooled in gilt in a central panel; watered silk taffeta pastedowns and flyleaves, inner morocco hinges; lightly rubbed, 5 1/4 x 4 in.
