Two large quarto volumes; I: illustrated with thirty full page engravings by Edward Finden after drawings by Lieutenants Hood and Back, of which ten are hand-colored, and four large folding engraved maps, bound in contemporary full calf with roll-tooled decoration in blind, gilt ruling on boards and gilt-tooled spine, nicely preserved and neatly rebacked, housed in a custom box, 10 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.; volume II: illustrated with thirty-one plates, and six maps (the final map outlined in hand color), untrimmed, bound in modern half calf and marbled paper boards, housed in a matching custom box, foxing to contents; 11 1/8 x 8 3/4 in.

[together with] Franklin's Narrative of a Journey, Philadelphia: Carey & Lea, Small, Parker, et al., 1824, first American edition, octavo, lacking the frontispiece, folding map bound after the text, bound in contemporary blue paper-covered boards, edges untrimmed, boards becoming detached, two pieces of homemade strapping keeping boards attached, 9 1/4 x 5 1/2 in.
