Ex-collection private collection, Florida.

Corbett (1871-1952) is known for her work as a sculptor and painter. She was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and later moved to New York City where she studied sculpture under Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) at the Art Students League. She then moved abroad to study at the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. After her studies in Paris, she returned to the United States and settled in New York gaining commissions for portrait busts, decorative objects and memorial tablets, among other sculptural work. While primarily known for her work in sculpture, she also painted luminist cityscapes in France and the United States, working in a Neo-Impressionist style influenced by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903).
