Additional Details

two images from the opening of stuart little. Williams's first image is of the family with the parents, the boy George, and cat Snowball lovingly looking down at Stuart sleeping in his tiny bed. Williams's commented in pencil in the lower corner "Cat not good? Don't like boy's face?" The second drawing is the same scene, but just of the parents, drawn much older, without the boy and cat. The comment on the separate sheet states "Style Nº 2 lighter drawing and people more comic." Stuart Little was White's first book; for it, along with Charlotte's Web, he won the Laura Ingalls Wilder medal in 1970.
