Kloss (1903-1996) was an Oakland, California born artist best known for her prints of the Western landscape and ceremonies of the Pueblo people. During her long, prolific career, from around 1924 to 1981, Kloss produced approximately 630 etchings. From 1933 to 1944, Kloss was the sole etcher employed by the Public Works of Art Project. Her series of New Mexico scenes from that period were reproduced and distributed to public schools across the state. Kloss 442.
