GEO ANDRIQUE CALAIS.
39 3/8x24 1/2 inches. Lucien Serre, Paris.
Condition B+: tear through top margin affecting image; minor creases and discoloration in margins.
Due to its location, Calais has been and remains one of the largest sea ports in the world. Here, a local woman is carrying a ship's sail and some of her wares through the busy harbor. Nearly all but destroyed during the bombings of both World Wars I and II, some original 13th century architecture (including France's only English-gothic style church) can still be found within the city walls.
