Autograph Letter Signed, "George R," to the Marquis of Salisbury, explaining that he will be notified about the date for ceremonies relating to the wedding of George IV and Princess Caroline of Brunswick as soon as the Princess recovers from her fatigue. 1/2 page, small 4to; small hole near first "e" of signature with minor loss, separations at folds repaired with paper verso, minor scattered soiling and foxing. "The Princess Caroline I find is rather fatigued with Her journey, I shall not therefore fix the Evening for the Nuptials till I am informed how She finds Herself in the warm of tomorrow. The Marquis of Salisbury may rely on my giving him as early notice as possible."
In 1795, George IV married Caroline of Brunswick, with whom he produced a daughter in 1796, Princess Charlotte. Soon thereafter, the couple separated, and George's attempts to divorce Caroline failed.
