Additional Details

A wonderful wartime image by famed pin-up artist Petty. An original 2-page centerfold is included in the lot and shows the difference between the printed image and the original artwork: Petty likely altered the final design after publication for another project as it shows the following differences: the doll seated, not standing, her finger under his elbow and his foot by her cuff, the puppet's hat insignia is Navy (changed from Air Force wings in the original), and the small watercolor abstract ship with steam in the background is not present. The original also has mounted corrected overlays on her sleeve and shoulder insignia, and puppet figure.
