GEORGE SEGAL
Telephone Booth.

Etching, 1962. 147x110 mm; 5¾x4⅜ inches, full margins. Signed and dated in ink and numbered 46/60 in pencil, lower margin. Published by Galleria Schwarz, Milan. From The International Avant-Garde: America Discovered (Vol. V). A very good impression of this scarce, early etching.

Segal (1924-2000) was one of twenty American (and Canadian) artists who contributed a print to The International Avant-Garde: America Discovered (Vol. V). This portfolio was among the earliest to showcase the graphic work of American Pop Art and included artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jim Dine, Robert Indiana, James Rosenquist, Wayne Thiebaud, Red Grooms, Alan d'Arcangelo, and others.
