Brush and blue wash on cream wove paper mounted onto card stock with additional collage of brush and black ink designs on cream wove paper, circa 1956. 233x190 mm; 9¼x7½ inches. Signed in black ink, lower right. Ex-collection Mr. and Mrs. James Vigeveno, Ojai, California, with the label on the frame back. Exhibited Santa Barbara Museum of Art, July, 1962, with the label on the frame back.

The maquette for the frontispiece of the same titled portfolio, executed as a color etching and aquatint in an edition of 100, published by Louis Broder, Paris (Vallier 109). In the print, a bird drawn by Braque in brush and ink on the current work has been removed and only the birds which he collaged on the maquette remain.
